Fire and Flood Gun Repair / restoration

Houstons premier Fire and flood gun repair

Our talented Gunsmiths have been repairing fire and flood guns from all over the greater Houston area for the past decade. From Hurricanes to house fires, flash floods and more, we have worked with customers and insurance companies to help bring hundreds of firearms back to life.

What to do after a flood

    Time is critical

Waiting to repair your flooded firearms will only lead to additional work being required to  bring them back to there original condition.

Once you pull them out of the water give us a call.

Let us know your gun has been damaged by flooding and we will accommodate your schedule so we can accept the firearms as quickly as possible to prevent any additional damage before we begin the repair and restoration process.

    What about insurance?

Some homeowners and flood insurance covers firearms collections and we have worked closely with insurance companies to get your firearms repaired at no cost to you

Didn't have insurance? Should you wait?

No, Never wait to have them repaired.

JP Customs LLC is a pay on pick up company, meaning you only need to drop the gun off to get the process started. We understand the flood may lead to life needing repair as well and we are able to work with our customers to help them bring their prized possessions back to life while they put their lives back together

What can JP Customs LLC Repair/Restore

    • Metal Restoration
    • Wood Restoration
    • Old Firearms
    • Modern Firearms
    • Repairs
    • Part Fabrication

    What finishes can we apply

    • Bluing
    • Parkerizing
    • Cerakote

    Things to consider

    • How valuable or rare is the gun?
    • How contaminated was the water?
    • Is the gun still under water?
    • If it’s still under, it is likely better than pulling it out and letting oxygen get to it, if it is going to sit for a few days.

It is very important that guns don’t get taken from a flood and left out to ‘air dry’ as all the internal springs and parts will be ruined.

The best thing to do is pull it out, dry it off and rinse any dirt and other debris off it, then immediately submerge it into some type of oil. As soon as possible the gun should be disassembled, and each part cleaned and inspected.
